Greg built this helmet... it is suppose to be a master chief helmet!

I am so LAME!

It has been over a month or close to since I have written or even updated this... wow, I am not sure where the time has gone! Well I do but seriously it feels like I just updated this a week or so ago!
Ah well... so he is a quick run down....
We are in full swing for 'relay for life' and and very busy raising money for that; I celebrated my 25th birthday... geez... I feel old saying that...eewww!
Greg is wrapping up his 'adventures' in the middle east and will be back in my arms SOON!
We are looking at quite the busy summer of visiting people and doing some very over due camping!
I will get back to you all in a few days after our big "monte carlo" night and tell you how much money my wonderful team was able to make!
Please help us with our goal of $3000!

There is a light...

The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter!!!
Not too bright though!!!!
As of right now, I have a count down started until my dear husband is home.. it is later then he or I had thought it would be. Once he returns he has requested that he have some alone time and will not be telling anyone when exactly he is home and so please don't look to here for that info.
Greg would like sometime to decompress and relax... He said his return will be a lot different then his HLTA as he was still in battle mind just on vacation and now it is a matter of truly relaxing and 'standing down'. Please do not take anything personally!
Greg will have off approx. eight weeks so we will make out way around to see everyone and re-connect with everyone.

In other news.. I am working hard to fundraiser for Relay for Life; we are holding a garage sale on May 3rd in Ajax and would love for you to come by and support us! Even if you don't need anything.. a small donation would mean so much to us. Beside the traditional garage sale items we will a table set up to buy and decorate luminaries! I think there is also plans to sell some homemade baked goods! Please come by and visit us; it will be at 8am-2pm at 1 Forest Rd. in Ajax!
As well as the garage sale we will be holding a fundraiser night.. door prizes, 50/50 draw, poker... all proceeds will be going to Cancer Society's RELAY FOR LIFE... please join us on May 23rd at 8pm in Oshawa at the McLaughlin Armouries!

That is all for now folks!

Ahoy!

Well it has been quite a while since I wrote....
Where to start... Well Greg had a great time home... or that is what he says atleast. We enjoyed a relaxing and fun filled 19 days. We spent a few days at home and then went off to Punta Cana, DR; once we returned we visited some people but mostly spent time relaxing and having fun doing nothing!
This is on one of our last days in Dominican, we had our pictures taken with the parrots.
Once Greg returned to the 'sandbox' I started to get myself reintergrated into working again... it was so nice to have 3 full weeks off to lounge around and do nothing. {what a life eh?}
Greg was faced with quite a number of "hiccups" upon his return back and was very upset and angry over the retartedness of his job. He is feeling better now and as everyone he has been working with for the past 5.5 months is finishing up, he is getting more and more excited for it to be his turn. As of right now as far as either of us know he will be returning to Canada mid to late May...
About a week ago his replacment arrived to begin the hand over, and even though it was a lot sooner then Greg had anticipated he is happy to be able to have a long period of time to do his hand over and then ease himself out of the 'sandbox'.
In other news Greg loved the bedroom renovations and was overjoyed that it had such a relaxing feel to the room. unfortunately I have not figured out how to post an album of pictures and when I do I will post the pictures of the bedroom!
Let's see Spring is here and with spring comes summer and nice weather! Nice weather equal wedding season... or atleast that is what I am calling this summer... as Greg and I have the most amount of weddings I or anyone in my family has ever attended in a 6 month period!!!
So whatever money Greg and I saved this summer is not going to really show after this summer is done and all the weddings! LOL
With the nice weather comes Greg's return and as of right now we don't have any plans to have a party or social event but if something comes up I will post it for you all.
I will try to most more pictures as I have tons from the month of Feb. - Apr.!

Hours remain and nerves are on edge!

So I didnt sleep much ~ as I expected... I don't feel top shape... I think now that I am starting to relax that today is the day... a cold is sneaking up on me! {boo}
Well I am watching about 3 different websites of flight trackers... can you tell I am antsy!?
I can not imagine how Greg is feeling to be traveling to get home for the past 5 days... poor guy!
Well I hope he got rest because as my t-shirt reads "read this shirt...because in a few hours it'll be on the floor! WHY? because my SOLDIER'S HOME thats why!"
Well I think I will keep this short and sweet... for to all our readers... we will update you after our holidays! Maybe with some pictures!

So Close!

So Greg is currently making his way back to Canada for his HLTA {leave time}
I am so happy, it has been a long 4.5 months; I am very happy to just have him in my arms for a little while.
We are not making plans to see people; not to be rude or selfish, as this is Greg's request. He only has so much time and is traveling long enough days on planes and always being in a vechile over there he would like to avoid travel as much as possible! We would welcome visitors! We just ask you call as we are going on vacation for a week while he is home!
We are planning on going out for St.Patty's day and will welcome all that would like to join us!

On another note the bedroom is nearly complete so pictures of that will be posted soon!

Hope everyone is doing well and are all as excited for Spring as I am!

February

February already some may think, but to me it is an achievement...
I have anxiously been waiting and counting down; now I am under the 3 week mark, for Greg's HLTA! Greg will be home for a short vacation/ rest time. In that time him and I have a nice little trip to Punta Cana scheduled and some well deserved relaxation time.

What is new with us... well on my front since the last update I have began renovations of our master bedroom, which seems to be a bigger task then my brother or I ever imagined! I totally understand why renovations are always more expensive then you think they will be!
I have also started relay season early this year! I am the captain of a team this year and so far we have a lot of enthusiasm and drive. Some of you may be wondering is it relay season already?... well not yet really... I am hoping to get the team motivated and hit the road running! I have some great inspirations and ideas so hopefully we have a great year!

I have some new pictures from Greg and I will try to get some posted soon, I have been sort of out of sorts and off since being up roots in my house to a cramped single bed surrounded my suitcases and boxes that were removed from the master bedroom in order to do the required work.
I truly hope to get atleast one or two more undates in before Greg arrives home... maybe I will update you all on how the room turned out and some pictures!
Signing out for this entry!

Quick recap of holidays

So on christmas day I was harassed *persay* that I have not been keeping this blog up to date enough... LOL { to the right is a pic. of greg on the 25th}
So what can I report on...
I will be returning back to work in one more day; how do I feel about that some ask. I am sad because I will not be sleeping in let alone sleeping when I wish (ie. having naps). I am in some ways happy. I have found that work helps to pass the days by faster. I have gotten sicker since christmas... I was doing better but with the pass of christmas I found myself getting when seems to be a head cold, even though I have yet to kick the pesky cough. It has been 6 weeks since I first got sick and so I am just tired of being sick.
Some have asked how christmas went for me? Well it wasnt anything I really celebrated; I felt lonely and like it was another day. You will see above how and what Greg did to celebrate the holidays.
For new years I went to a dear friends house and just had dinner and enjoyed their company. I got to talk to Greg during our new years and he welcomed me into the year 2009 as he had been in it for nine and a half hours already.... cheeky guy!

Let me thing is there anything else to report... I have booked a lovely week vacation for Greg and I for when he home on leave to beautiful Punta Cana... thinking about it has helped lift my spirits and give me even more to look forward to but to plan and organize. Something for me to pack and plan for, I am very excited and can not wait to get into some warm sun and sand.. as greg has been in for the past two and a half months! Bah.. lol

I believe that is all for now folks.. I will try my hardest to update as often as possible!!!

Entry from Greg!

Christmas in Afghanistan... well for the Canadian side it was not too bad we had dinner on x-mas eve deep fried turkey easiest way of doing one up here, We don’t have a stove so we use what we got. Then had a big Canadian dinner on x-mas where we were able to skype our families to say merry Christmas and such, not too bad all in all. Christmas day me and a few other Canadians went to the ranges... it was a blast no pun intended, there was not much going on that day so it turned out really good.

New years was the other night, it was lots of fun. During the day was work as usual, not too bad then we had dinner. I made shrimp o good stuff, the first few batches was made of butter and garlic the last few were made up of beer and hot sauce; Yum Yum they went very quick every one love the dinner, well there was no complaints atleast. I did get myself a little something for new year tho "easy cheese" made with real cheese and ritz crackers, Yum Yum, that is some good stuff as well. Well new years day was not to bad either, worked a little and was able to get a grand tour of the American embassy; yea that is 30min of my life i will never get back! All I have to say about it is that it is the most modern building here, walked in and it was just like being in any office building back home not too shabby.

Will have more to post and write later!
